You cannot call to repentance those who deem themselves sinless.
It may seem a but redundant but the fact is that without the knowledge of one’s trespass, sincere apology and reform are not possible. When Jesus said the following, I felt it in a way I hadn’t asked before: “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. ” - Luke 5:32 The self-righteous have no interest in being told they’re at fault. And this plagues religious and non-religious alike.
